Category: (Un)pasteurized milk/45% milk fat/soft cheese. Coulommiers gets its name from where it was first produced. Its taste and flavor are very similar to Brie, but it is not as well-known. It can be industrially produced (pasteurized milk) or made using traditional methods (unpasteurized milk). Traditional methods require aging for about 4-6 weeks. Coulommiers are thicker than Brie, and the white moldy outer layer is edible. They are best enjoyed after meals with apples, pears, and fresh berries.
