The warship HMS Antelope was trapped in Normandy waters by strong currents. Ironically, the warship, unable to leave, became the guardian of the Navat-class oysters. Gouville-sur-Mer, the ancient oyster-farming capital of Normandy, France, boasts significant tidal variations, and the strong currents nurture oysters with plump, meaty flesh. It is also recognized as having some of the cleanest waters in the bay, resulting in oysters with delicious meat and crisp, tender frills!
