Feta is said to have a history of over 2000 years, and its origin is strictly regulated; cheese produced outside designated areas can only be called white cheese. Commercially available Feta is usually preserved with salt, and fresh Feta is only available locally. This cheese is suitable for various dishes, but the salt must be removed before use. It can be soaked in lightly salted water overnight, or rinsed in warm water or milk before eating. It can be used in salads, fried in butter, or added to pasta… Drizzled with olive oil and served with roasted red peppercorns and nuts, it’s delicious! It pairs well with beer, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Zinfandel.
